Why has my 2 yr old female cat got gungy eyes??

She has dark brown jelly like stuff that comes out in the inner corners of her eyes, when I wipe them some times a long bit comes out

Hi Angela
This isn't normal and is the sign of an eye infection. cats can get runny eyes for a variety of reasons and this will initially produce a clear discharge. However if infection sets in then the discharge will go brown or yellow. There are a variety of primary causes in cats and the most common are Chlamydia and Herpes Virus which can cause the initial infection. It' s the secondary bacteria afterwards that can be easily cured and so a trip to the vet is in order here.
