Where abouts is the tooth black?the fact that it is only one would make me suspicious that it may eventually start causinga problem. Sometimes after a bang or trauma the tooth enamel can appear darker and if this is what your mum has seen may eventually mean the tooth needs removing. It is not necessarily something that needs adressing now unless he appears p[ainful/won't eat food on that side/drools etc. I would have a chat with your local vet either when he goes in for his vaccinations or if your vets run the pet smile month campaign
