Hi Jan
I think little Dexter needs to perhaps go back to his puppy days. Have you tried taking him out immediately after he's eaten and if your at home with him during the day, then take him out to the garden every couple of hours or so. I have 3 and they don't bark to go out but I do have a cat flap so they can come and go whenever they please, that might also be a solution. Wish you good luck, Diana

Hi Jan
Please don't shout at poor Dexter, it sounds like his is now really confused. To him the house will smell like his toilet, you need to clean areas thoroughly with a biological detergent that actually dissolves the smell rather than just covering it up. Then go back to basics and have him on a houseline inbetween 'toilet breaks' so that he cannot make a mistake. If you are not confident to retrain him then seek a veterinary referral to a qualified animal behaviourist who can help you.
Best of luck.
