Scooby

Scooby was 18 months old when I got him, I was forth owner,he had had quiet a bad life and was a frightened little fellow, the first time I tried to put a lead on him he stood up in a corner and weed himself, he rarely socialises with other dogs, and never with humans, he stays very close to me and won`t walk off a lead, never plays while out but will play at home, he is a very loving dog , food being his number one love, result is that I have him on a diet, when I first walked him people knew Scooby was there, he went into panic mode at people and dogs, and barked incessantly, I tried about every bark remedy there is, but a trainer told me to let him bark and ignore him, that worked, he is very quiet now.
Scooby picked some sort of toxin in December and was seriously ill, he nearly died from it, thanks to the vets he survived.
Scooby came to me with that name, I did not like it and was going to change it, but I quickly realised that he was very much a Scooby dog, of the two dogs I have Scooby is the thinker, no more so than if he thinks he can blag food from Trek,I have to be aware of all his cunning plans, Trek has a habit of hiding food for later, and Scooby hides just out of sight where Trek cannot see him, as soon as Treks back is turned Scooby is there liberating it, poor Trek spends ages checking all his hiding places and coming up empty handed, Scooby is always looking for a lot of affection, and reassurance, but what he gets he gives back a hundred fold, the photo was chosen by the council when they launched their new web site, I was so proud for him.
One other thing about Scooby, he waits till I get out of bed then crawls under the duvet and rests his head on my pillow, he loves being covered up.

The important thing is that you understand he has issues and love them all because it makes him, him. If more people thought before rushing into getting a dog, rehoming would not be as much of a problem but now Scooby has a happy life and will progress under your care.
